This 6-week registered group is for children who have witnessed/experienced family violence/abuse. The PEACE program recognizes that children do not passively witness violence/abuse but resist and respond to it in many ways. The group follows 6 themes (paired with each week) to explore topics such as boundaries, healthy friendships, families, conflict resolution, bullying, coping skills, and safety planning. During the 6 weeks together, members gain a sense of belonging and receive messaging that they are not alone in their experiences, and that what they have been through is not their fault. These themes and topics are explored through the use of games, stories, activities, videos, and group discussion, with time for fun and connection.
