Reporting to the Property Manager, this position is a hands-on position and will be responsible for supporting all aspects of janitorial maintenance within the Bernice Gehring Building and other buildings within the Cythera portfolio, as required. This position may require travel between properties within Maple Ridge.

This position may require travel between properties within Maple Ridge.
Responsibilities in this Role
Perform regular cleaning of commercial and residential spaces including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing all common areas, restrooms, and office spaces
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, elevator buttons, shared spaces and equipment. Assist with any cleaning tasks as required at any MRPMCS sites
Empty and dispose of garbage and recycling from all commercial areas
Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass doors, and entryways
Ensure commercial restrooms are stocked and sanitized
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and repairing fixtures
Assist with minor maintenance repairs and landscaping as required
Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs and report to property management team
Coordinate and assist with external contractors for larger repair projects, as required and in consultation with the Property Manager
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
Completion of Grade 12 plus training and/or a minimum 2 years of experience, including the ability to operate cleaning equipment and basic tools. Previous experience in janitorial or maintenance work preferred, along with strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions and strong communication/interpersonal skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language
Sound knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment used in building maintenance
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and clear driving record
Proactive with the ability to problem solve
Self-starter with a positive attitude, and able to work through daily/weekly tasks with minimal supervision
Basic computer skills: experience with Microsoft Office

Women’s Support Worker
Cythera Transition House Society is currently accepting applications for two separate full-time Women’s Support Worker positions at its Transition House located in Maple Ridge - one Full-Time Graveyard and one Full-Time Temporary for the afternoon shift.
These positions will provide support, advocacy, information, and referrals to women and children who have been impacted by intimate partner violence and/or abuse.

2. Full-Time Temporary Afternoon Shift
LOCATION: Maple Ridge, BC
Cythera Transition House Society is currently accepting applications for two separate full-time Women’s Support Worker positions at its Transition House located in Maple Ridge - one Full-Time Graveyard and one Full-Time Temporary for the afternoon shift.
These positions will provide support, advocacy, information, and referrals to women and children who have been impacted by intimate partner violence and/or abuse.
Accountabilities
Provide support and assist women in transitioning into safe, supportive housing or other community programs and services.
Performs intakes based on established criteria with referral to Shelter Case Worker and other appropriate resources and or shelters if they are not admitted.
Sharing information and resources that are available and ensuring the women are comfortable by providing support, supervision, food, clothing, and shelter.
Provides referrals to community resources including housing supports, health, treatment, legal and financial needs.
Liaise with other community resources and supports and external agencies as needed.
Completes and maintains related records including intake and exit documentation, daily case notes, critical incident reports and database entry.
Performs a variety of duties specific to the operation of an emergency shelter including bed-making, laundry, general clean-up of assigned areas and food prep.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Diploma in a related human/social service; one (1) year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of the barriers impacting homeless women, youth and children including domestic violence, trauma, substance use and mental health.
Good understanding of community resources available to support women.
The ability to assist and support women with a non-judgmental, trauma informed approach.
The ability to mediate, negotiate and facilitate healthy interactions amongst clients.
Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to maintain accurate records.
The ability to manage crisis intervention.
The ability to work independently as well as the ability to work collaboratively as a team.
Additional Requirements:Clear Criminal Record Check is required.
Acceptable Drivers’ Abstract (provided annually).
Valid and unrestricted Class 5 BC Driver’s License with access to a safe and reliable vehicle.
Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
Position requires Union Membership.
Shift/Schedule
Full-Time Graveyard – Applicant must be available to work Sunday to Wednesday 10:45 pm to 7:45 am.
Temporary Full-Time; until January 6, 2026 or return of the incumbent. Afternoon shift line - Applicant must be available to work Sunday to Wednesday 2:15 pm to 11:00 pm.
