An important update about Clinical Counselling services at Cythera Transition House Society:
We want to take a moment to share some changes that are happening at Cythera as we continue to grow and adapt to the evolving needs of our community. We are in the process of developing a new Community Counselling Program, an initiative designed to expand access to clinical counselling in the community and provide even more inclusive, supportive care for individuals and families. This is an exciting step forward and we are deeply hopeful about the positive impact it will have.
Shifts to available funding meant that we had to adapt our service delivery, we understand the critical role clinical counselling services play in our overall health and wellbeing and we strive to ensure that we continue to make this available in our community. As we move toward this new model, there may be changes to how our counselling services are currently delivered. We are working to ensure a smooth process and our commitment to supporting those impacted by violence, abuse, and trauma remains unchanged. Whether you’re a current client, a community member, or a fellow service provider, please know that your needs and experiences continue to guide this work, and we will continue to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care throughout this shift.
For those on our waitlist awaiting clinical counselling - we will contact you directly in the coming months to share information about this new program and get you connected with a counsellor.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of growth. More details about the Community Counselling Program will be shared in the coming months.
If you have any questions or need support during this transition, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Nichole Olsen, Program Manager, directly at Nichole.o@cythera.ca or 604-467-9939 ext. 202.
